Self.com looked at “5 At-Home Beauty Devices Dermatologists Say Are Actually Worth the Money” and went beyond just the latest fads and trends to recommend the following three products.

1) Clarisonic Facial Cleansing Brushes, price range $99-$349
“If you are acne prone this is one of the best tools you can get for at-home use,” dermatologist Michele Green, M.D., tells SELF. “Because the brush cleans the skin and pores so well, it makes absorption of skin-care products easier.”

2) MD Exfoliator Personal Microderm Device, retails for $145
Dr. Green mentions that this product “leaves your skin super clean and energized.”

3) Tria Hair Removal Laser 4x, retail price $404
While $400 is a lot to drop on a beauty device, it is also similar to the cost of a laser hair removal session – and you’d need a few of those in all cases. However, Dr. Green points out that it’s only approved for light skin colors and darker hair. This is because dark skin, and certain hair types/colors such as white, blonde, red or grey hair will not absorb enough of the energy to disable the hair follicle.
