Live That Glow Talks Sunscreen 101 with Dr. Green
There are many types of sunscreen, such as Mineral sunscreens, which are “often formulated with fewer irritating ingredients and more hydrating ingredients,” explains Dr. Michele Green in “Sunscreen 101: Literally Everything You Need to Know About SPF” this weekend. Chemical sunscreens are popular too but can be a risk to those with acne – since “many chemical sunscreens have a greasy formulation that blocks pores, causing more acne lesions to form.”
Dr. Green talks with the Live That Glow team about this and all other sunscreen types – including hybrid sunscreens. What’s the right type for you? As usual, it depends. “Mineral sunscreens are often better for dry skin because they are often formulated with fewer irritating ingredients and more hydrating ingredients,” she explains. While for senstitive skin types, “the safest choice is a hypoallergenic and fragrance-free sunscreen.”
