Fine lines and wrinkles on the face can make a person feel self-conscious. And while the aging process cannot be reversed, a person doesn’t have to worry about the appearance of their skin, as there are a number of different skin smoothing procedures available, each with their own merits. Progress in how treatments are undertaken and what procedures are available is constantly under development and Dr. Michele Green is always exploring new ways that patients can be treated more effectively.
Recently, a brand new treatment, Thermage FLX has been approved by the FDA. This procedure from Solta Medical offers some additional benefits over their current treatments, with one of the main benefits being the speed of deployment. The new Thermage FLX treatment can work up to 25% faster than previous treatments, which means it is possible to treat the entire face in around 45 minutes. This is because the tips that are used to treat the patient are 33% larger than before, which simply put, enables the practitioner to treat a larger surface area overall.
In addition to the treatment time being reduced, there are some other fantastic benefits from the brand new Thermage FLX treatment. Patient comfort has been improved with the introduction of vibrating tips. Treatment precision has also been improved. Algorithmic, patented technology (AccuREP™) has also been incorporated into the hand device to help provide more precise treatment through the use of real-time adjustments on a per-pulse basis.
How does Thermage FLX work?
Thermage FLX uses radiofrequency (RF) technology to heat the layers in the skin, to stimulate collagen production, and to also tighten the skin, to make it look less loose, which in turn reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. RF skin tightening technology has been available to patients since the early 2000’s and Solta Medical have been at the forefront of this technology with Thermage.
The new Thermage FLX treatment works in a similar way to previous Thermage treatments, but as time has moved on, the technology involved has been improved and refined. Patients who are interested in Thermage skin tightening, who may be interested in discussing the latest technologies available, such as Thermage FLX, should first book a consultation with Dr. Green to discuss their requirements, and to ascertain whether they are good candidates for skin tightening procedures.
