When is the Right Time to Apply Deodorant? Dr. Green featured on RealSimple
Dr. Green was quoted this weekend in “Are You Applying Deodorant at the Wrong Time? Here’s What Derms Recommend” at Realsimple.com. She mentions that putting deodorant on clean, dry skin will help absorb the product better and so doing so on clean skin such as after a shower is ideal.
But days often include many activities, so what about in between? “Deodorant should be reapplied as often as necessary for you to feel clean and fresh,” Dr. Green says. “When you notice a smell or feel like the deodorant has worn off, then it’s time to reapply.” There is no magic formula though as “everyone will benefit from deodorant differently, so what works for one person will be different from what works for another person,” Dr. Green says. “The best practice is to listen to your body and apply it whenever it makes the most sense for you.”
And in regards to treatments for hyperhidrosis, the best option is to consult with a dermatologist first.
