Dr. Green also underscores the importance of moisturizing before bed. “Nighttime moisturization is crucial because it aids in skin repair while you sleep and creates a protective barrier that helps prevent moisture loss overnight,” she says. She recommends richer creams or hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and squalane to help lock in moisture and support barrier repair.
