PRP Treatment for Hair Loss Featured on The Spotlyte

Cat Matta was featured in The Spotlyte by Allergan for an article titled “I’d Thought All Hope Was Lost — Then a Foray into PRP Treatment May Have Stopped My Hair Loss in Its Tracks” where she visited Dr. Michele Green for PRP treatment on her hair.

Cat had noticed that her hair was gradually thinning in the front in recent years, and summer ponytails were not as thick as they used to be. She tried supplements and a slew of over-the-counter shampoos, conditioners, drops, sprays, and mousses, but nothing seemed to work.

However, with Spotlyte by Allergan, she was able to explore (and learn about) PRP injections and how they can work for fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, acne scarring, and of course hair loss. While we of course have talked about the facts and figures behind PRP treatment’s effectiveness and how it works, this article talks about the procedure she underwent with Dr. Michele Green and her team.

Dr. Green asked Cat about her medical history, past and current medications, and when hair loss and thinning was experienced, upon which she was able to see what factors were to blame, as well as the overall review of what was more than just “female pattern baldness.”

The article explains what level of pain might be felt and how the PRP injection part works. In addition to that, an overview of how often the treatment might be needed (depends on each case) and how Cat’s follow ups and next few months went, feeling “slightly fuller hair in my once-balding areas.”
