Does Castor Oil work for hair growth? Today.com Feature

Dr. Green was quoted on Today.com’s article “Does castor oil help with hair growth? We asked the experts — and their answers may surprise you.” It talks about how Castor Oil has become a trend on social media due to its supposed potential for quick hair growth but like many trends, may not be actually the case.

Castor oil does contain ricinoleic acid, which could potentially increase hair growth but this does not necessarily mean that it will – and Dr. Green notes that more research is needed.  Traditional medications like Minoxidil are still the preference overall – as Dr. Green mentions “Minoxidil is a medication that lengthens the growth phase of the hair growth cycle and restores inactive hair follicles.”
