Neutrogena’s Popular Light Therapy Mask – Currently Recalled

Healthline reported that a popular Light Therapy Mask from Neutrogena is currently being recalled.

While they are popular due to their price and futuristic look, the mask may cause eye issues for certain people with underlying conditions. “Our decision to recall this product is being made out of an abundance of caution,” said Neutrogena in a statement.

The Neutrogena uses blue light is supposed to kill the acne-causing bacteria P. acnes, while red light reduces inflammation. However, Healthline asked Dr. Michele Green her opinion and she noted that while she “(has) blue light in my office,” she also noted that “The blue light that I have in my office is extremely powerful — people wear goggles when they are using it to protect their eyes. The lights that are in these $35 machines at home are not equivalent,” and this is something people should take account of.

In all cases Dr. Green notes that with any product or medicine that you’re going to buy, it’s always important to talk to your doctor first. Find out more about the recent mask recall at – https://www.healthline.com/health-news/popular-led-mask-being-recalled-what-to-know
