How To Get Rid of Pimples: Common Acne Fighting Ingredients with Insider
Dr. Michele Green was featured in three Insider articles this week, one titled “How to get rid of pimples fast: Your guide to 5 acne-fighting ingredients” along with “Why you’re getting pimples on your scalp and how to treat them, according to dermatologists” and “7 causes of pimple-like bumps on your penis, according to doctors” – where in the first two she mentions a few common acne fighting ingredients – such as if you’re just trying to get rid of a pimple or two, Dr. Green recommends opting for a spot treatment or gel containing benzoyl peroxide. However if you have sensitive skin, sulfur might be an option, as this “is a little less irritating than benzoyl peroxide.”
As for Scalp based pimples, “scalp acne may look and feel like a normal pimple that’s located around the hairline or on the scalp under the hair. It can appear as a single patch of pimples or several patches, and can even affect your entire scalp,” says Dr. Green, in the second Insider article.
Of course if the acne breakout doesn’t respond to OTC treatments, she also notes that prescription oral medications may be necessary to help reduce flare ups. For the other article it also might be worth determining if it is a pimple in the first place.
