Is Body Wash or Bar of Soap Better for Showers? Yahoo! News
Some people prefer the traditional bar of soap, while some like using body wash – but what may suit you can be different from others. In “Should you shower with body wash or bar soap? Here’s what a dermatologist says” – Yahoo! asks Dr. Green for her preference. “Both are effective for cleansing the skin of dead skin cells, dirt, debris and other impurities,” she confirms.
Overall though, oily skin may prefer the bar of soap option while dry skin may work well with the body wash. Dr. Green notes that “Bar soaps are recommended for individuals with oily or combination skin, as these individuals are less likely to experience irritation or dryness after usage. Body wash is well suited for individuals with dry or sensitive skin, as foaming or gel cleansers are packed with hydrating ingredients designed to promote moisture retention. Additionally, many body washes contain soothing ingredients to alleviate irritation in individuals with sensitive skin.” She then looks at various popular soap and wash brands with the team.
