Where Can Juvederm Be Injected?
Juvederm is a procedure that injects hyaluronic acid dermal fillers into wrinkles that are caused by loss of volume. Because hyaluronic acid is a natural substance, a natural form of sugar found in the body, it enhances the skins moisture by retaining water, and thus flows easily into the skin – often via one treatment procedure. It is used in a variety of places including the following:
Juvederm for Wrinkles:
Juvederm is popular for reducing a wide range of facial wrinkles, such as “Parentheses lines” that run vertically from the nose to the corners of the mouth, as well as vertical lip lines that can appear over time or corner lines that form where the upper lip and lower lip meet. It is also often used for what are commonly referred to as “Marionette lines” which form below the corners of the mouth and can give the mouth a downturned appearance
Juvederm Voluma for Cheeks:
Juvederm Voluma is a popular procedure for the cheek area. Over time, since our bodies produce less of this hyaluronic acid, ones cheeks tend to lose form and start looking somewhat hollow. Juvederm Voluma is an FDA approved dermal filler injection that adds volume around the cheeks and restores the fullness in that area of the face, restoring a youthful look. It is a natural appearance that has helped the procedure become more popular going into 2018, with a 20% increase in those seeking treatments in both 2015 and 2016 (source: Google keyword data) and can help restore those rosy cheeks for up to a year longer.

Juvederm for Smile lines and Nasolabial Folds:
Over time, smile lines tend to form around the mouth, they resemble parenthesis that form on both sides of the mouth. These smile lines are also known as Nasolabial Folds. They are caused by a range of factors, such as genetics, weight fluctuations, sun exposure and un-healthy lifestyle choices such as smoking. However Juvederm dermal fillers can help support those folds and decrease those lines. It is a procedure that is effective for women and men of all ages with immediate results after one treatment.
Juvederm for Marionette lines:
While Nasolabial folds occurs on both sides of the mouth, Marionette lines are creases that occur between the mouth and the chin, a lower version of this. The name is due to the lines around the chin that create a sort of “puppet” jaw. Again, dermal fillers can work for this removing this type of appearance, via Juvederm injections at Dr. Green’s NYC private office.
Juvederm for scar treatment
Juvederm is also often used for acne scars and other dermal scar conditions. This can help reduce the visibility of certain scars, particularly indented scars. Like other procedures, the treatment will need to be repeated over time, but can cover up acne scars for prolonged periods of time. These injections build up collagen in the scars and help to heal these scars. Dr. Green also offers acne scar treatments that compliment these injections such as laser scar treatment & chemical peels, which also should be considered in these cases.
Juvederm for lips
Last but not least, this is the most common use of Juvederm. As a result, we have created a separate page that goes into more detail on Juvederm injections for lips.
As one of the first doctors in New York City to incorporate the use of Juvederm at her practice, Dr. Green was an early adopter of this dermal filler and has treated thousands of happy patients since. It works on all skin types and colors. Treatments take just a few moments, and results can last up to one full year.
