Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis) can drive people to thoughts of suicide

Medical Xpress reported on a recent review of data from 15 studies, involving over 300,000 people, which found that “those with eczema (also known as atopic dermatitis) had a 44 percent higher risk of suicidal thoughts compared with people without the immunological disease” and “people with eczema also had a 36 percent higher rate of suicide attempts.”

The article discusses Eczema with various skin care experts, such as Dr. Michele Green who noted that Eczema “can be mentally stressful for patients who suffer from it.”
