Topical calcineurin inhibitors (TCI) are drugs that are designed to inhibit calcineurin, which in turn help suppress the immune system. These medications have started to be used in dermatology to help treat issues such as atopic dermatitis which is a inflammatory skin condition. A study has been conducted to see if TCIs are linked to an increase in skin cancer. The study has indicated that there is no association.
