2024’s Best Scalp Scrubs: Byrdie

With 2024 coming to an end soon, Byrdie did a recap of the best scalp scrubs of the year. Brands such as Kerastase are featured here and Dr. Green mentions how their product “…is formulated with physical plant-based beads and chemical salicylic acid to break down and remove buildup on the scalp.”  She also talks about the Sachajuan scalp scrub and what to look out for in general.

“For people with sensitive skin, it is important to avoid scalp scrubs that strip all of the natural oils that shield the skin; instead, they should use gentle exfoliators” and when choosing one, to note that “there are two key types of exfoliators, physical and chemical, which both clean the skin and remove dead skin cells and debris that build up,” says Dr. Green.  She also talks about how often to use it (once per week) and to make sure use is followed up with a hair wash.
