Thermage & CoolSculpting
Dr. Green often uses a combination approach of using Thermage® and CoolSculpting® for non-surgical body contouring. This combination of heat and freezing works well for male and female patients with little pain or down time. To start off, Dr. Green uses Thermage to tighten the skin. This is followed up with CoolSculpting, which freezes off the fat in the particular area. Targeting fat cells under the skin, the cells become crystallized (frozen) and then your body naturally processes the dead cells.
Whether there’s a muffin top, extra fat on the thighs, sagging arms, a bulge on the legs, or buttocks, CoolSculpting will freeze the fat within thirty five minutes. The full effects of both of these procedures however takes a few sessions across a period of three to four months. CoolSculpting is non-invasive and the first FDA approved “fat removal” treatment. While Thermage procedures stimulate new natural collagen production for up to six months following the treatment. While CoolSculpting and Thermage may take a few sessions, Vanquish is another great way to non-surgically treat an entire area. The advantage here is that one’s abdomen or flanks can be treated in just forty-five minutes, while the difference here is that instead of fat freezing, the treatment is heat based. Love handles, abdomen and belly areas can be treated at the same time, but it is often recommended that three consecutive treatments are needed for the average patient.
Vanquish treatments involve an applicator handle which hovers less than an inch above your skin. Vanquish ME (Maximum Efficiency) uses a combination of radio frequency energy and high-tech sensors that are able to detect the fat levels in your body and then deliver a customized level of energy to heat and liquefy the fat. The body then naturally flushes the dead fat cells away.
Vanquish requires at least three weekly treatments, which again varies by each patient’s needs, and should be discussed beforehand with Dr. Green. However, like other non-surgical fat removal options, down time is limited to just a brief period of redness and some minor swelling – but not enough to impact your daily routine in any way.
A newcomer to the scene, Sculpsure is one of the latest FDA approved and non-invasive ways to remove the fat in a given area. Sculpsure also works on a heat based basis, as the laser light heats the skin up within five minutes, aiming to boost production of collagen and elastin in one’s skin. The whole procedure takes twenty five minutes, and aims to melt the fat in different areas of the body. It is currently only FDA approved for the abdomen and love handles. This is another painless non-surgical way to reduce fat bulges in your body.
