Why You Should Not Stay In A Wet Swimsuit
While the summer months are in full swing now, with temperatures hitting the 90’s in the NYC area today, its a good reminder to not stay wet while wearing a swimsuit. And while it won’t cause immediate harm, one should avoid lounging around for too long in a wet swimsuit as it can increase the risk of a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), yeast infection or Bacterial Vaginosis (BV).
In addition to removing your wet swimsuit as soon as reasonably possible, dermatologist Dr. Michele Green was quoted in the article from She Knows, mentioning that “After swimming, it is always best to rinse off immediately and shower with water.”
