What is the Best Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin: SheKnows
Today in SheKnows magazine, Dr. Green was quoted multiple times in “The Only Sunscreens You Should Be Using if You Have Sensitive Skin, According to Dermatologists.” SPF is important to have on your skin for any time out in the sun, even if its not that sunny out. However – if you have sensitive skin, the first step is to test it out, “apply a small amount to the inside of the forearm and see if you have any skin reaction,” says Dr. Green. “After a few days, you should be able to tell if the new sunscreen is irritating to your skin.”
The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) recommends using mineral sunscreen overall and this is because “many individuals with sensitive skin have found that using chemical sunscreens leads to irritation that can worsen other skin conditions such as melasma, eczema, acne, and rosacea,” says Dr. Michele Green in the article.
