Juvederm SkinVive Filler Coming Soon: Feature in Allure.com

Dr. Green was interviewed by Allure today in “SkinVive Is the First Filler of Its Kind Available In the U.S.” where she talks about the new filler from Allergan Aesthetics,  SkinVive which will be released under the Juvederm group of hyaluronic acid fillers.  The fillers you may be more familiar with, like Juvederm or Restylane, “are used to fill and augment various areas of the face and don’t impact the quality of the skin,” says Dr. Green in the article as she discusses the types of fillers and the potential benefits of SkinVive. For example, its a quick procedure and easy to recover from – “patients in the clinical studies were able to resume their daily activities immediately after treatment,” says Dr. Green. Like with Botox or other injectables, “It is recommended to avoid heavy exercise, makeup, and sun exposure for the first 24 hours,” she adds, and also notes that in the initial days after treatment, there can be “swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, or firmness at or near the injection site.”

Approved by the FDA in May and planned for release at the end of September 2023, it will be available at various places across the US. In all cases though, its best to see a medical professional for this and all similar procedures. “It’s recommended to go to an experienced, board-certified dermatologist for any cosmetic injections, as the risk of unwanted side effects and cosmetic results are greatly decreased with a board-certified dermatologist,” says Dr. Green.
