eMatrix for Acne Scars
Patients today desire an effective and safe treatment for acne scars, and eMatrix is the best laser to do so. eMatrix has almost no downtime- just one or two days of redness. eMatrix uses fractionated bi-polar radio frequency to penetrate through the skin allowing more energy beneath the surface of the skin to really maximize collagen production while keeping the top layer of the skin intact. What also makes eMatrix the best and safest laser to treat acne scars is that it’s ideal for all skin types, including Asian, Latino, and African American skin.
How Many eMatrix treatments are required?
Each patient’s treatment protocol varies based on individual needs and results desired. Most patients will receive 3-4 treatments, each spaced four to six weeks apart. In some cases patients see results in just one treatment. The success of the treatments works by producing a new level of collagen formation and healthy cells are produced. Even though after one treatment you will see some improvement, the full benefit typically takes at least 3 treatments.
How Does eMatrix work and how long does it take?
eMatrix is a quick procedure which typically takes 10-20 minutes to perform depending on the area. There is little or no discomfort since we numb every patient with a topical numbing cream for 30 minutes before the procedure. Patients usually feel only a warm, prickly sensation, which is entirely normal. Immediately after the treatment patients will look and feel as though they have a mild to moderate sunburn. A little bit of redness, swelling, mild dryness, and flaking occur during the first two to three days after the procedure and will subside quickly. Once the patient leaves the office they are required to avoid sun exposure, retinol, avoid swimming, exercise, saunas and makeup for several days until the skin is back to normal.
