If you have an issue with oily skin, the first step in absorbing oils is choosing the right cleanser. Dr. Michele Green, MD notes this in her recent interview with Readers Digest, citing that, “if you have oily skin you should use a cleanser which contains one of the following”:

  • Salicylic acid: Due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Great for unclogging pores
  • Retinol: For treating fine lines and wrinkles, making them look less shiny/oily
  • Glycolic acid: Which helps to reduce excess sebum (oily secretion) production

Find out what cleanser she recommends, along with best skin moisturizing lotions. Key ingredients to look for here, according to Dr. Green, are:

  • Alpha hydroxy acids: which gently exfoliate the skin
  • Hyaluronic acid: a moisturizer that hydrates the skin

Dr. Green also talks about Blotting Papers, which “prevent your pores from clogging while giving your skin a matte finish.”   Find out more about the best skincare products for oily skin and read the full post at:
