Juvederm Voluma & Botox
When it comes to selecting cosmetic treatments to help improve various aspects of your appearance, there may be a few different issues that a person wishes to deal with. As we age, fine lines, wrinkles and sagging can appear in multiple areas at the same time. This often cannot be treated by just one treatment, since each procedure performs best when it is used to tackle a particular issue. For example, two of the main treatments that we use together for cheek fillers since they are highly complementary and get excellent results are the combination of Botox®, and JUVÉDERM Voluma.
The Combined Effects of Juvederm Voluma with Botox
Botox® is a solution that can be used in many different places including the face. This solution is a purified toxin that is injected into the treatment area in very small doses. This action freezes the muscles which stops them from contracting. One of the key treatment areas for Botox is for the reduction of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Juvederm Voluma XC is an FDA-approved dermal filler that is designed to help provide a lift to the cheek and chin areas of the face. This treatment has the effect of a non-surgical face lift. The active ingredient in Juvederm Voluma that restores volume to ones face is “hyaluronic acid” – a naturally occurring substance which is lost (along with collagen) as a person ages.

Other Juvederm solutions such as Juvederm Ultra-XC and Juvederm Volbella® are commonly used to give a fuller appearance to the lips. This and other dermal fillers are available to help improve the appearance of nasolabial folds (known as smile lines) in and around the mouth area.

Using Juvederm Voluma with Botox for various treatments
In addition to cheek fillers, Juvederm Voluma with Botox are two different types of treatments that can be used together successfully to treat fine lines, general mid-face sagging and wrinkles in the face. Botox is also great at treating areas from the eyes upwards on the face, as well as the neck, whereas dermal fillers can complement this treatment since they are great at targeting areas from the eyes downward. When Juvederm Voluma is combined with Botox, it can help provide a more youthful appearance.
The length of time that Botox can be effective for is typically around three to four months before the treatment needs to be repeated. Juvederm Voluma on the other hand is a procedure that lasts much longer. Generally, results are effective for between twelve months and in some cases, up to eighteen months.
