The Flow Space Asks Dr. Green About Sheet Masks for Aging Skin

“The beauty of sheet masks is that individuals of all skin types can benefit from using them,” notes Dr. Michele Green in “The 12 Best Sheet Masks for Mature Skin, According to a Dermatologist” today in The Flow Space. She talks about how sheet masks work well for those with mature skin, what to look for in order to avoid dry skin – for example “Those with mature skin often have to deal with dryness, fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation,” notes Dr. Green. “Hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and ceramides are excellent for nourishing and plumping the skin, treating dryness, and temporarily reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”

And what ingredients to avoid or look for – for instance unscented formulas are best. “It is best to avoid sheet masks with fragrances, dyes, alcohol, or formaldehyde, as these ingredients are known skin irritants and can lead to inflammation of the skin,” says Dr. Green.  She also comments about various different over the counter sheet mask options to see what the best option for you is.
