Dermatology Trends of 2018-2019 & Most Researched Cosmetic Treatments
When it comes to dermatology trends that become popular or fall out of favor each year there are always some interesting findings to see.
One of the best sources for information is the RealSelf 2018 Aesthetics Trend Report which has been recently released, summarizing the cosmetic dermatology treatments and services that have become more popular and have fallen in uptake. These do no always match our own findings at our practice, but do give us some wider insight into the wider-marketplace and inform us as to what treatments people are interested in.
What were the most researched Cosmetic Treatments on Real Self
When it comes to non-invasive and minimally invasive treatments it may come as no surprise that the most researched topic here was Botox. Botox continues to be number one since this is a treatment that is very well regarded for tackling fine lines and wrinkles.
CoolSculpting came in at number two on the list, and again this is a very popular treatment at our dermatology practice too. This ‘fat freezing’ procedure is great at tackling stubborn fat pockets around the body. At number three on the list was Juvederm which is good at smoothing out some of the wrinkles that are a little too deep for Botox.
Fastest Growing Cosmetic Treatment Topics
It can take a little while for cosmetic treatments to become truly well known by name. For instance new treatments such as Jeaveau and CoolTone are yet to fully take off. However, the more word gets around, either through advertising or word-of-mouth some procedures suddenly become much more popular than they had previously.
One of the fastest growing topics in popularity is PRP for Hair Loss which has taken the position four spot. Real Self states that PRP for hair loss has seen a 20 percent growth in research popularity in 2018, when compared to 2017.
There is always interest in any hair restoration treatments and it is a topic that tends to bring some skepticism regarding the results, since there are many ineffective treatments out there. The good news is that the reputation for PRP for Hair Loss’ is building as it proves to be effective and is also one of our most popular treatments here too.
In terms of brand new cosmetic procedures that have appeared as new trends and shown some popularity. Emsculpt which uses electromagnetic fields for body sculpting purposes has shown a big uptick in interest in 2018 compared to 2017.
