Women’s Health magazine asked various dermatologists about what the best options for acne treatment were when it came to face wash brands. Whether a full on breakout or a set of blackheads and whiteheads, the right acne face wash can make a big difference in unclogging pores and getting rid of pimples.
“Even though a cleanser doesn’t stay on your skin very long, it can still help exfoliate your skin and clean out dead skin cells and oils that clog pores,” explains Dr. Michele Green, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist in New York City.
For adults with acne, Dr. Green recommends washes containing salicylic acid. In some cases, Benzoyl peroxide is another option, but it can cause drying, so pay attention to how your skin is acting once you start using it and adjust as needed. And while seeing a dermatologist and understanding what works best with your skin is the best option, you can read the list of recommended products over at http://www.womenshealthmag.com/beauty/best-acne-face-washes
