Juvederm & Kybella to Become Popular Options in the Fall Months
Earlier this year, CoolSculpting was everywhere. Into the summer, you could often see it on TV, subway ads, magazines and more. Even abroad, in cities across the Atlantic such as London, CoolSculpting ads were abundant.
Looking at Google Trends over the past 12 months, which looks at what users are searching for, whether on their mobile phones or laptops, tablets or desktops – the trend was reflected there too. And this was certainly the case for us too, with patients often asking about CoolSculpting and new patients finding us via pages advising people on what CoolSculpting might cost, or general FAQ’s and details about what CoolSculpting is.
The chart above shows Google Data for users in the New York City area. And while CoolSculpting was the hot topic for the spring and summer so far, in the middle of August, two other procedures have started to close the gap – Juvederm and Kybella.
For Juvederm, this is largely because of Juvederm Volbella, which has recently been FDA approved and will be available in October 2016. In fact, Dr. Green is one of the first doctors who will have this treatment available in the NYC area – you can find out more about Juvederm Volbella here.
The other big change heading into the Fall season is Kybella, which is starting to garner a lot more interest this month. Approved in 2015, Kybella is an injectable treatment for submental fat (also known as the “double chin”) that can give you a younger looking more sculpted neck without the need for surgery.
Based on Google Trends data, Kybella is getting more popular in the states of California, Florida and New York in August 2016, though CoolSculpting still has the lead overall when it comes down to the more popular recent procedures.
Kybella however (and its parent company Allergan) are planning a lot of consumer advertising activity in the weeks ahead – there is also news about Kybella potentially being used to remove bra-line fat and fat located around the knees and ankles. As a result, it may be worth looking at Kybella or Juvederm for the fall season and booking an appointment with us.
