“The Skin Cancer Foundation and dermatologists including Dr. Michele S. Green are paying close attention to the surge in melanoma cases among young adults, ages 18 to 39. Rates of this potentially deadly skin cancer have climbed by 800 percent among young women and 400 percent among young men in the past 40 years. Indoor ultraviolet (UV) tanning, more popular among young women than young men, may account for the difference, but the problem is very serious for both sexes.”
