Sun Damage and Sun Spots and Aging

As we age, the sun damage to our face’s makes us look older than our stated age. Most people think of aging as the fight against wrinkles. Some patients only think about getting facelifts and fillers. However, the easiest way to have younger looking skin is not to “fight” the wrinkles but to help treat the sun damage, tone, and texture of your skin.
The sun damage can be treated conservatively by using topical Retinols, topical Vitamin C and other anti-aging serums such as MGSKINLAB’s duo which contains Renovage. Renovage is an extremely powerful cosmeceutical which helps discoloration, redness, and improve fine lines on the skin.
Daily sunscreen use is essential as well and I recommend at least an SPF 30 to applied daily and re-applied after several hours outside. Proper sun avoidance with hats and UV protected clothing also help protect yourself from the sun.
Lasers have made significant advances in the field. The Fraxel Laser and Clear and Brilliant Lasers both reduce sun damage, fine lines, and sun spots with a few simple treatments with little or no down time. Thermage with the new CPT tip technology is an exceptional laser to tighten the skin, especially on the jowls and face where the signs of aging first appear.
